wooden bead necklaces for RAICES
My daughter EJ and I are raising money for RAICES - the largest immigration legal services non-profit in Texas helping immigrant children, families and refugees. And we’d love to send you one of these necklaces.
Here’s the story: We’ve been talking with EJ about why people seek asylum in the US and the state of the camps. And she wanted to do something about it. I found myself explaining how it’s hard to know what to do. So I’m writing our representatives daily, but she wondered if she could do something, too.
We brainstormed creating something together to put in my shop. We talked about our current finances and how we can’t give a lot but that this could be one way we could and rally others to join us. Plus share something we really love making together (and have been making for years).
So we created some of our favorite wooden bead necklaces - some painted, some from her collection she’s been making as gifts since she was little. Five beads per necklace for those five deep breaths. The necklaces are about 28” around, they are all different, and we will choose one for you. Half of the cost of this necklace will go to RAICES and half will go to EJ’s summer camps and piano lessons (and back-to-school needs). Thank you for helping me help my daughter learn more about helping others.
And your response has been amazing!! We thought we’d just make about 25 but we’ve sold many more than that, and we've been able to donate more than $1000 already. Thank you so much!
And please note that we will continue to be very transparent about what we donate, including sharing how much and updating on my Facebook and Instagram accounts so you can see what EJ is learning and how your support has helped.
